Last Mandate of the Venerable Cuauhtemoc

Our Sun has disappeared.
Our Sun hid its face
and has left us in complete darkness.
But we know that it will return,
that it will come out again
and will illuminate us once more.
But while it is there
and it remains in the mansion of silence,
let us promptly gather and embrace each other
and in the center of our being let us hide
everything that our hearts love
and which we know is a great treasure.

Let us destroy our sacred places,
our schools, our ball courts,
our places for the youth,
our houses of song and dance.
May our roads lie abandoned
and may our homes protect us
until our New Sun rises.

May the dear fathers and mothers
not forget to guide their young
and teach their children, while they live,
how good has been until now
our beloved mother earth Anahuac
sheltering and protecting our destiny.

And for our great respect and good behavior,
confirmed by our ancestors
and which our dear parents very passionately
sowed in our being,
we now ask our children
not to forget to teach their sons and daughters
how good she will be, how she will rise and gain strength
and how well she will fulfill her great destiny,
this our beloved mother earth Anahuac.
